【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardgivesrecommendationsforthedesignofnewbuildingsandtheirapproachestomeettheneedsofdisabledpeople.Itappliestocarparkingprovision,setting?downpointsandgaraging,accessroutestoandaroundallbuildings,andentrancestoandinteriorsofnewbuildings.Therecommendationsalsoapplytoroutestofacilitiesassociatedwithandintheimmediatevicinityofbuildings.NOTE1TherecommendationsinthisBritishStandardmainlycoveraccesstobuildings.Thestandardmakesreferencetoegressintheeventoffireorotheremergency,butthemainrecommendationsformeansofescapearegiveninBS9999.TherecommendationsgiveninthisBritishStandardalsoapplyforassessingtheaccessibilityandusabilityofexistingbuildingsand,wherepracticable,asabasisfortheirimprovement.Theextenttowhichtherecommendationsapplytolistedandhistoricbuildingsisdeterminedonacase?by?casebasis.ThisBritishStandardappliestothefollowingtypesofbuilding:a)transportandindustrialbuildings,e.g.rail,road,seaandairtravelbuildingsandassociatedconcourses,carparkingbuildingsandfactories;b)administrativeandcommercialbuildings,e.g.courts,offices,banks,postoffices,shops,departmentstoresandshoppingcentres,andpublicservicebuildings,includingpolicestations;c)healthandwelfarebuildings,e.g.hospitals,healthcentres,dentalpractices,surgeriesandresidentialhomes;d)refreshment,entertainmentandrecreationbuildings,e.g.cafés,restaurants,publichouses,concerthalls,theatres,cinemas,conferencebuildings,communitybuildings,swimmingpoolsandsportsbuildings;e)religiousbuildingsandassociatedfacilities,e.g.churchhalls;f)educational,culturalandscientificbuildings,e.g.schools,universities,colleges,zoos,museums,artgalleries,librariesandexhibitionbuildings;g)residentialbuildings,e.g.hostelsandhotels,residentialclubs,universityandcollegehallsofresidence,nursinghomesandprisons,aswellasthecommonpartsofmulti?occupancyresidentialbuildings.ThisBritishStandarddoesnotapplytoindividualdwellings,toresidentialbuildingsdesignedspecificallytomeettheneedsofseverelydisabledpeople,ortotemporarystructures.NOTE2ThisBritishStandarddoesnotgiverecommendationsformanagementandmaintenanceinoccupiedbuildings,butalistofissuestobeconsideredisgiveninAnnexA.AlthoughthisBritishStandardisaimedspecificallyatthedesignofbuildingstomeettheneedsofdisabledpeople,itsrecommendationsarealsolikelytobenefitthepopulationingeneral,e.g.elderlypeople,peoplewithchildreninpushchairsandthosecarryingheavyluggage.
